This is a picture of the slide that killed two people up Independence pass outside of Aspen. The aspect is N-NW. The slide on the left they saw run on the way up. They were caught in the slide on the right.There's a good report on www.wildsnow.com .
It sad that people have to die playing in the backcountry.

Great example, however, of what they teach you about avoiding slopes of similar aspect/angle to nearby slopes that have recently released...
